The black rock desert is a 400 square mile, flat, prehistoric remnant of Pleistocene Lake Lahontan. Scorpions, black widows and snakes call it home and of course, The Burning Man Festival. It boasts 120 miles of historic trails and is located in the northern Nevada section of the Great Basin about 100 miles out of Reno.
