Pyramid Lake has about 3 or 4 trees on the whole lake if you exclude the little town of Sutcliffe. In the Summer you definitely need to bring an umbrella because there is no hiding from the intense sun.

The weather can change on a dime at Pyramid Lake and you don't want to get caught off guard. The wind blows fierce from the north end of the lake and dust storms and clouds of rain or snow can emerge in an instant.

Pelicans and Pyramid Lake
The American White Pelicans make Pyramid Lake their home for a few months in the early spring and take over the sanctuary at Anaho Island to breed.
The Pyramid and Needles
The Pyramid is 400 ft tall . Stone Mother sits to her right forefront. Needles Hot springs in the background. No longer able to visit either place, the Paiute Tribe closed its access in 2011 due to graffiti vandalism.
