Mono Lake Sunset
On New Years Eve 2010 , I walked to the edge of Mono Lake for a sunset picture. The wind was blowing fiercely at 50 mph. I sat down on a bench at the end of the boardwalk and set up my tripod. It was all I could do to hang on to it. At about 10 degrees below 0 windchill I pulled off my gloves and attached my camera. Put my gloves back on and hunkered down with the wind at my back. Just as I was ready to give up, the wind died completely, the water calmed, and I got the shot.
